Description |
Two stereoviews showing the Germantown Waterworks as seen from across the Waterworks pond [which was sometimes referred to as Lincoln Lake], both taken circa 1870. The Waterworks building visible in both photos stood in the approximate location of what is now the intersection of Lincoln Drive and Morris Street. By the mid-1890s, the building had been demolished to construct Lincoln Drive, with the pond filled in. .90 Verso, in pencil: "Water Works. Germantown. No. 200." .91 Verso, various scribbling and "Germanton Water Works Philadelphia" etc. |
